Key Areas of Gas Hydrates Study: Review

Gas hydrates are widespread all over the world. They feature high energy density and a clean source of great potential. The paper considers experimental theoretical studies on gas in following key areas: formation dissociation, extraction transportation technologies natural methane hydrates, ignition, combustion. We identified lack research more areas defined prospects further development as promising strategic resource. One immediate problems is that there no findings for effect sediments their matrices hydrate saturation, well dissociation rates. No mathematical models describe under various conditions. There into renewal improvement existing easier cheaper production from them. ignition taking account processes self-preservation effect.
